Symbol Caddy and Corporate Ipsum Widgets by Evan Orensten
Brian Haslanger is a designer who has created two handy freeware widgets for Apple's OSX.
Corporate Ipsum creates placeholder text according to your length and paragraph specs.
Symbol Caddy is a widget I use all the time when writing posts—a click on a symbol or letter copies the HTML code to your clipboard, making quick work of posting symbols, accents, em dashes, etc.

Apple TV v2
Adding a few capabilities that help realize its full potential, the newly-launched version of Apple's computer-to-TV entertainment software is a massive improvement over the original. The biggest plus for aesthetes like us is the 1080p output which means you can stream HD movies, TV shows and podcasts (including featured titles like CHV!) with little more than a click in iTunes (TV and movies will...

NIN + Garageband
Whether you're a Trent Reznor fan or not, this is a pretty damn inventive way to release a single. We now know Trent Reznor is a Macintosh user, because he has released a single as a GarageBand file, for personal remixing. This is a promotion for the Nine Inch Nails upcoming release "With Teeth", which will be available May 3rd. "'What I'm giving you...

If my site happens to be your first stop after crawling out from under a rock, I'm pleased to let you know that much earlier today Apple announced a few new things. In the software category comes iLife 05 and iWork featuring lots of updates and one new app, Pages (a word processor). More exciting is the new hardware. Mac mini is a $500...

ShifD
Simple tools are always the best way to accomplish simple tasks. Such is the case with my new favorite multi-platform app, Shifd. It's basically a really easy way to capture and view notes, places and links from your mobile phone, web browser or computer desktop. I most often use it for mobile notes-to-self; whenever I need to capture a name, place, task or thought...

AirMail
Sometimes the obvious choice is the best choice, which is why we love the new manila envelope-based AirMail sleeve designed for the new MacBook Air by our favorite quick thinkers, Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans. Yep, someone already did it.We were hoping that the Airs would ship in an actual manila envelope, but the AirMail lends functionality by handmaking the case out of...

Macworld 2008
Those of you as obsessed as we are (read: setting up our laptops at the lunch table) already know today's Macworld news—the overall theme of which seemed to be wireless capabilties—but for the rest of you Steve Jobs today announced several new slick Mac products, the most impressive being "the world's thinnest notebook," the MacBook Air (pictured above) and the all-new Time Capsule (pictured...
