O Water by Tim Yu

OWater.jpg OWaterPlain.jpg

Not just another designer beverage battling for shelf space, O Water is a new flavored water from the founders of Nantucket Nectars and Fiji water. By replacing artificial sweeteners and other not-so-healthy ingredients with all-natural ingredients, O Water accomplishes more with less resulting in a light, crisp and subtly-flavored water.

We prefer the Original unsweetened variety over the Infused alternatives and the it's better served chilled than at room temperature. Containing oil and essence of fruit, the Lemon and Lime water is an accurate reproduction of a "glass of water with a twist of lemon" minus hassling with an actual lemon. Served in a tapered plastic bottle that sports a clean design and brightly-colored label, O Water is available in select stores across the U.S.

Fred Water
It's hard not to spot Fred spring water at the store because its well designed flask shaped bottle stands out from the endless homogenous shapes that surround it. We like its style and like the fact that it's local, coming from nearby Sullivan county in upstate New York. Fred publishes a weekly online "modern trendzine" called FredSpot which features art and music content that...

We hit Napa this weekend and one of the many pleasures was an afternoon at The French Laundry (thanks for the hook up, José). When our waiter explained our water options—locally filtered flat or sparking, on the house) we were pleasantly surprised. He went on...

Absolut Machines: Absolut Quartet
Absolut Machines is Absolut's promotional initiative that explores where technology meets design in the form of two "machines." Last night we got to check out one, the Absolut Quartet, an interactive multi-instrumental robotic machine. It consists of a marimba played by rubber balls precisely shot from a robotic cannon, a series of spinning wineglasses dampened by robotic fingers and an array of percussive instruments....
