"Are you sick of finding pictures of yourself on the internet? Are you annoyed by the way your eyes look? Do you wish that documentation did not exist?" FlickrBlockrs solve all the problems posed by the many party photo takers and street style hunters. A "weird joke that turned into a product and website," the accessory is a joint project by Jona Bechtolt (aka YACHT) and Veneer Magazine. Pick up your pair (for $9.99) from FlickrBlockrs.

O Water

by Tim Yu

OWater.jpg OWaterPlain.jpg

Not just another designer beverage battling for shelf space, O Water is a new flavored water from the founders of Nantucket Nectars and Fiji water. By replacing artificial sweeteners and other not-so-healthy ingredients with all-natural ingredients, O Water accomplishes more with less resulting in a light, crisp and subtly-flavored water.

We prefer the Original unsweetened variety over the Infused alternatives and the it's better served chilled than at room temperature. Containing oil and essence of fruit, the Lemon and Lime water is an accurate reproduction of a "glass of water with a twist of lemon" minus hassling with an actual lemon. Served in a tapered plastic bottle that sports a clean design and brightly-colored label, O Water is available in select stores across the U.S.

Karl Haendel: Last Fair Deal Gone Down

by Ami Kealoha

epson_zoomie.jpg install_4.jpg

LA-based artist Karl Haendel's work—flirting with cliché, irony, realism and art history, among other common art pitfalls—makes the kind of work that evades easy categorization. His latest solo show at Anna Helwing Gallery is a collection of mostly pencil drawings of subjects that look both familiar and new, a trick that Haendel pulls off by his skillful manipulation and appropriation of his subjects.

Photo-realistic images, such as a whale jumping, a couple touching tongues and a sad-faced hobo clown, look pulled from magazines (and probably are) but the way the artist handles composition, scale and his medium avoid simple reproduction. Others, like a drawing that looks like a negative version of a Jill Greenberg "End Times" photos (above right) or "Abstract (Epson zoomie squares)," a dizzying op-art composition presumably made using a corporate graphic (above left), tweak source material in unexpectedly witty ways.

Pointer Shoes Spring/Summer 2007

by Tim Yu

PointerMathieson.jpg PointerDebaser.jpg

Pointer, a small shoe company started by ex-members of Silas, Carhartt and Blueprint Skateboards, recently dropped their new line of spring and summer shoes. The designs are an elusive blend of understated style, equally fit for business or casual settings.

A mid-top, the Mathieson (above left) consists of a durable nubuck upper and vulcanized soles with copper eyelets and black-on-black criss-cross stitching adding subtle but stylish detail. The Debaser Canvas (above right) features brightly colored detail stitching but maintains its sleek and clean style by keeping a slim profile. Made of heavy canvas with wide gauge stitching around the toe it is a durable and classic design.

The Spring/Summer Pointer line is currently available at The Glade starting at €50.

Sex In Art

by Lost At E Minor

SexInArt.jpg Sex_In_Art_two.jpg

We love the way Australian-based website Sex In Art takes a healthy peek at all things arty and well…sexual. There's some beautiful illustration work up there and some evocative photography. Heck, we're getting a little hot under the collar just thinking about it. While most of the work they feature is work friendly, some of it isn't. Still, it's worth more than a casual glance.
