Swizz Style Henry Air Purifier by Ami Kealoha
Whether you think it resembles an aardvark or a leech, the new Henry air purifier by Swizz Style is a modern low-profile way to remove all the junk—dust, pollen, soot, spores, smells, some germs, etc.—from the air. Using a five-stage filter, air enters through the base, passing through a carbon/HEPA filter, a plasma generator, a Titanium Dioxide and UV light, a negative Ion generator and a fragrance holder (which we hope is optional) before it's recirculated into the room. The Henry features an automatic shut-off, stands just over 50" tall, makes very little noise and is available in white metallic or black metallic. Only recently launched, contact Swizz Style at info [at] swizz-style [dot] com for more information.

Galen Trezise Crocheted Cozies
From the newly-opened Look boutique in SF, these handmade cozies have all the warm appeal of a sweater grandma made with an offbeat Dr. Seuss shape. According to the site, they're intended for vases but we think they'd be well-suited for dressing up a different household object that holds water and plant matter. With unusual colorways, ruffles and perforated weaves, they also hold their...

Mystic Wall Clock
The Mystic Wall Clock is a quiet addition to the new crop of products on Personal Interior Design, the Swedish internet shop. With no numbers and barely discernible hands, it's certainly not the most efficient timepiece. But what it lacks in logical components, it makes up for in eeriness. Designed by Matt Carr for Umbra, the clock's hazy finish lends an ethereal notion to...

Riedel Decanters
New from the generations-old family glassware-makers Riedel, this series of decanters takes its inspiration from birds for a collection that's as striking as it is functional. Designed by Maximillian Riedel (also responsible for leading the stemless revolution) and his father Georg and handmade by artisans in their Austrian factory, the leaded crystal vessels are all aerodynamic lines and dramatic dimensions. While the Swan (above...

Toaster Challenge
The household toaster serves a simple purpose, but some models do it better than others. At CH we take this responsibility very seriously, and in hopes of separating the best from the average, we recently pitted four models from different manufacturers in a head-to-heat toast-off and recorded our highly subjective results. The toasters we used were the Alessi SG68, Viking VT200, Breville Smart Toaster BTA820XL...
