Soho Font by Sebastian Lester by Tim Yu

TypefaceSoho.jpg

A new slightly beefy typeface called Soho was released yesterday by Monotype out of the U.K. Good for publishing and corporate branding, Soho features many different stylistic sets, allowing for personalization (Regular is pictured right). Lightweight, condensed, or super-strong and heavy, it's a versatile font based on a slab serif (characterized by thick and blocky serifs) that's clean and easy to read. Typeface designer Sebastian Lester's goal was to make a font that looked very 21st century and he comments, "perhaps 60,000 fonts in circulation and only a small handful of multi-weight, multi-width slab serif designs exist." Add one more to the handful.

For more information, to see all the stylistic sub sets and to purchase Soho visit Monotype.
