Unearthen Crystal and Bullet Jewelry
by Ami Kealoha
Just as designer Gia Bahm takes her time harmonizing the history and opposing forces that define her new line, Unearthen, so should you consider the distinct powers and potential in each of her crystal creations. The design of Unearthen necklaces centers around a stark and potent union between the bullet and the crystal. A bullet casing binds either a single crystal or a collection of different crystals, each with its own character. Take Black Tourmaline, a stone known to repel and protect against negativity. Or Kyanite, said to stimulate communication and the continuation of projects. The combination of these crystals creates not only a formidable and complimentary force, but also a visually striking accessory.
Thomas Allen
by Jonah Samson
If you love pop-up books and trashy pulp-fiction book covers, then you're sure to love these pictures by Thomas Allen. By taking an X-acto knife to the pages of vintage books and manipulating the images, he is able to make two-dimensional characters come to life by playing with lighting, angles and focus. The books’ wrinkled and worn pages, as well as their crumbling spines only help add to his constructions. These little paper dioramas are colorful, melodramatic and playful. See more images here. And, until tomorrow, 3 March 2007, you can see his show at Foley Gallery in New York.

Bell & Ross BR01 Grand Complication
by Watchismo
Only shown as a big question mark on the Bell & Ross homepage with a countdown for its Basel World unveiling, the new BR01 Grand Complication features a Tourbillon and what appears to be a "Thrust" indicator? I can maybe assume this watch measures G-Forces. (See the previously featured G-Force watch here). Makes sense, the BR01 Instrument series are designed to look like aeronautical gauges anyway.
