Moto-à-Porter
by Ami Kealoha
For the next week you can see my finds on Moto-à-Porter, a "super blog" covering São Paulo's Fashion Week. Created by the creative team ag407 for Motorola, the site is part of the lounge they've set up (pictured) and Moto-à-Porter is already full of posts by the cast of 12 Brazilian bloggers and four international bloggers (Cool Hunting, Face Hunter, Trendwatching and World Changing). Today you can even see some reporting about the talk I gave on mobile technology and Cool Hunting Video.
Pallino Wine Glass

Whatever your philosophy, there is no questioning whether these glasses are half empty or half full. An Italian bistro style wine glass, the 6oz. Pallino Wine Glasses have a line at the halfway mark, with the Italian word for optimist above the line and pessimist below.

Jeff Zimmerman: Of Clouds And Milk Drops
by Tim Yu

A master glassmaker, Jeff Zimmerman (featured in the Cool Hunting Gift Guide 2006) has attracted increasing attention over the past few years. Opening today, 24 Jan, at R20th Century Gallery will be the artist’s first solo exhibition in the US. On display will be a survey of more than two dozen new works, ranging from mysteriously biomorphic and colorful sculptures and tabletop-scaled abstract vessels, to luminous pendant lamps and monumental chandeliers from his Morphos, Cloud, Callalily and Milk Drop series. His signature organic shapes are intensely colorful but soft, mysterious but welcoming, disquieting yet familiar.
Opening Reception: Today (Wednesday), 24 Jan 2007, 6-8PM at R20th Century.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 24 Jan - 3 March.
Rolex and Jaeger LeCoultre Ring Watches
by Watchismo

I wonder if it were socially acceptable to wear a watch on every appendage, would I? Well, I'd likely start with one of these vintage 1950s ring watches by LeCoultre and Rolex. Very rare, the platinum and diamond set LeCoultre "Duo-Plan" (pictured right) has an impossibly small dial and movement. It's top-hinged for winding and setting of the watch. Also hard to find, the 18k Rolex Precision (pictured left) has an engine turned conical cover. Now, you can give someone the finger and tell them the time.
Nike Considered 2007
by Josh Rubin
Considered, the sustainable footwear line from Nike, has moved in to their All Condition Gear group and will be introducing some rather innovative product as the teams join force. Always reliable for the scoop, Woody over at Sneaker Freaker has a great interview with Bob Mervar, Design Director ACG and Peter Fogg, Senior Designer about two new shoes that came out of the collaboration and are bringing a new look to the previously quirky-yet-respectable Considered line.
The Water Cat (pictured, top) is a water shoe made with an extreme reduction of materials, simplifying the manufacturing process. Performance of this shoe is apparently not compromised by the post-tech look—there's support where you need it and it's very light weight.
The Soaker (pictured, bottom) is another water friendly shoe but also has broader appeal. Made from fewer layers of material than normal sneakers and built with "snap together tooling" instead of toxic adhesives, these shoes definitely resonate with my urban-green sensibility.
No word yet on pricing or availability, so stay tuned.
Globorati
by Josh Rubin
Just launched today, Globorati is a new luxury travel website. Realizing that most of the people who can afford to jet around the globe and be comfortable are also too busy to thoroughly research their possibilities, this blog filters it all down to a manageable handful of options each day. Whether you're looking to daydream of beaches while eating lunch at your desk or are actually planning the next vacation, check out Globorati for a bit of inspiration.
Ku-ture
by Lost At E Minor
The Australian based Ku-ture is a new concept in online stores. It will specialize in one-off garments, accessories and jewellery with a focus on up-and-coming designers. They are currently on the look out for designers who would like to sell their wares on the site. It doesn't matter if you make stuff in your garage or are a fully fledged designer, as long as you have something special, unique and one-off, Ku-ture wants to hear about it. If you have something to offer, contact Caroline via the Ku-Ture website to find out all the details. The site launches on 26 February 2007.
