Charbay Green Leaf Tea Vodka

by Ami Kealoha

Charbay_GreenVodka.jpg

The Zen martini, served at the new restaurant Simon LA (Iron Chef Simon Kerry's successor to his Vegas spot), gets its unique flavor from Charbay Green Leaf Tea Vodka.

Brewed in small batches in Northern California by the Karakasevic family, the Green Tea flavor's bite nicely balances a mixed drink and makes for a great aperitif as well. The flavor is one of several fresh fruit vodkas that Charbay has been producing for over a decade (the Karakasevic family boasts 13 generations in wine-making and distilling), including Ruby Red Grapefruit, Meyer Lemon, Red Raspberry, Blood Orange and, most recently, Pomegranate. Using only the best fruits, the extraction process takes six months and each flavor is bottled only once a year at the peak of each fruit's season.

Christian Dior for Bulova Watches

by Watchismo

bulovadior.jpg

The house of Christian Dior designed 50 ladies watches for Bulova in 1971, mostly asymmetrical in design finished with brushed chromium or goldplated cases and a few very rare solid gold and silver. They're typically not found with the original CD logo buckle, mesh bracelet or original box, as seen here.

Second Life Artists Conversation

by Josh Rubin

307734295_9277a7e4cd.jpg 295821500_659f5627f2.jpg

Tomorrow night at Jen Bekman gallery, Marisa Olson from Rhizome will moderate a conversation with James Deavin and Eva and Franco Mattes about their documentary art work from Second Life. While more and more people are making their way to the virtual world, Second Life is still a venue for relatively few. And those of us who do get there aren't necessarily able to find the right aesthetic distance to see beauty in the rendered world. Deavin brings us a look at some landscapes and interiors; the Matteses create portraits of avatars.
