Floor to Heaven by Jacob Resneck

Walk across a moonscape or tip-toe across the woods with these wildly creative artisan carpets. Made from the finest textiles the world has to offer, such as wool sourced from New Zealand and Tibet, Floor to Heaven is a line of handcrafted floor coverings that double as conceptual art pieces.

The brainchild of German-born Michaela Schleypen, Floor to Heaven sets a new standard in flooring decoration. From abstractions like a bitmapped planet earth (click for detail) to more traditional floral mosaics, clients can even assist in creating their own design.

Riedel Decanters
New from the generations-old family glassware-makers Riedel, this series of decanters takes its inspiration from birds for a collection that's as striking as it is functional. Designed by Maximillian Riedel (also responsible for leading the stemless revolution) and his father Georg and handmade by artisans in their Austrian factory, the leaded crystal vessels are all aerodynamic lines and dramatic dimensions. While the Swan (above...

Made by hand, the pillow fits in nicely with Rise and Fall's other efforts...
Isolyn
Isolyn for their texture-heavy rugs that blend in felted cocoons and bubbles with sustainable materials like leather, sheepskin, and wool. The protruding forms also make for unexpected foot and body massages, and since head designer Michelle Butler once competed in synchronized ice-skating, we'll trust that she knows all about foot relief. The British company was featured at the recent ICFF show in New York...
Free Bird Boots
Free Bird is a handmade line of customized military boots applying recycling to fashion in a new way. Created by young New York-based designer, Stacey Howard, the boots were originally collected from military bases in the South. As Howard says, "It felt most natural to my aesthetic to use vintage native American garments and paint to refabricate the boots. Using a soldier's boot and...
