Floor to Heaven by Jacob Resneck

Walk across a moonscape or tip-toe across the woods with these wildly creative artisan carpets. Made from the finest textiles the world has to offer, such as wool sourced from New Zealand and Tibet, Floor to Heaven is a line of handcrafted floor coverings that double as conceptual art pieces.

The brainchild of German-born Michaela Schleypen, Floor to Heaven sets a new standard in flooring decoration. From abstractions like a bitmapped planet earth (click for detail) to more traditional floral mosaics, clients can even assist in creating their own design.

Rise and Fall Floral Love Pillow
Just in time for Valentine's Day, Cool Hunting favorites Rise and Fall created a romantic heart-shaped pillow that wouldn't be complete without their hint of macabre. The Brooklyn-based design collective designed this black and white floral print with skulls cleverly hidden into the pattern (click on image for detailed view). Made by hand, the pillow fits in nicely with Rise and Fall's other efforts...

The British company was featured at the recent ICFF show in New York...
Middle Colors Humidifier
With winter just around the corner, it's time to pack away your air conditioner and bust out the humidifier. Luckily, the Japanese seem to have a small obsession with moisture and have produced several devices we wouldn't mind keeping out all year. The latest to join this lineup is the Middle Colors humidifier, which is not only attractive and available in a range of...
Vienna Design Week 2008: Carpetplots
Reinterpreting the carpet as canvas, Carpetplots is a series of six limited editions each by a different Austrian designer. The project is the work of Vienna-based design duo Danklhampel, who curated the group of designers, and the furniture retailer Prodomo, which hosted the show at their gallery space, Prodomo Windows. What's unique about these carpets (compared to other similar collaborations) is a process, that's...
