Designers Against AIDS by Ami Kealoha

Daa1

With a mission to revitalize flagging awareness about HIV and AIDS, Designers Against AIDS tasks artists, designers, and musicians with creating t-shirt designs. Their second season ranges from Robots United's contemporary take on a vintage look (pictured) to the characteristically bold statement, "I use a condom," by fashion designer Katherine Hamnett and Henrik Vibskov's abstract architectural arrangement. Proceeds benefit various AIDS organizations, natch, and events in countries where the tees are sold help raise awareness on a grassroots level. Select styles available online for €59 from Daily Obsessions.

(Update: Robot United's design are no longer in production.)

The premiere design (pictured here) hints at a Sharpie theme, an ongoing thread in Mad's work. Printed in high-mesh (more supple) gold ink on a soft yet durable blend of hemp and...
Squarewolf Tees
Portland-based design studio Fwis just launched their line of tees called Squarewolf. Characterized by humor that plays on graphic design (like the pictured tee, titled WFF'd), they also feature guest artists - currently, Stefan G. Bucher of 344 Design. Using Gildan 100% cotton, fair trade and labor shirts and printing at local silk screeners Modified Printing, Fwis is as socially conscious as it is...

The collection launched at the pop-up Wired store last Friday and participating artists include Joel Dugan (his characteristic nautically themed octopus design is pictured here), Jackie Gendel, Anne Hall, Martin Mazorra, and Scott Rosenberg and all tees are made using...
