Availabot by Josh Rubin
Created by London based Schulze & Webb, Availabot is a USB device that physically shows the availability of someone on your IM buddy list. When the assigned friend is available for chatting Availabot stands up; when said friend is no longer online Availabot falls down. Each unit is made to order and can be customized to your liking. I'd love to see a daisy chain-able version so that I could connect a bunch of these guys to people on my buddy list.
Ed Note: Yes, we know this went around the web last week but we only just caught it today and it's too good to pass up.

Pottery Barn Smart Technology Collection
Admittedly, we don't do a lot of shopping at Pottery Barn, but their new line of Smart Technology furniture caught our attention. It's worth noting not only for the way it integrates gadget clutter into homes but also for adding other functional and organization features. The pinboard and speaker combination ($259) combines a linen bulletin board and built-in stereo speakers with a plug for...

Solid Alliance's USB Food
After we saw the campy-gross USB hub by Solid Alliance at Core77, we had to take a closer look. In addition to Shu Mai, mystery dumplings and the pictured rice-and-fried shrimp combo, they also make a plate of noodles with a USB port hidden on the tip of the fork (left). Also, check out this bizarre meat card holder that looks like raw Shabu-Shabu....
