Arrive Miami by Josh Rubin
Arrive Miami's attention to detail and commitment to serving this generation's travel-minded set is clear. Like Base, Arrive is a retail rarity in Miami; the not quite one year-old boutique features labels like Y-3, Loeffler Randall, Evisu, Cloak, Earnest Sewn, Nicole Farhi, LA Atelier, Red Monkey, Grey Ant, Cazal, Bell & Ross, and Rogues Gallery, among others. As the line-up suggests, Arrive's approach to fashion reflects a tempered philosophy seen in statements like "Exclusivity will be treated as a necessity and not a privilege" and "Fashion is merely an extension of self-expression; treat it with an open mind but never take it too seriously."

Montaigne Market
Montaigne Market in Paris blooms like a garden of fashion between the conservative, single-brand storefronts of Montaigne Avenue. As the first multi-marque in the city of lights, the store engineers a confluence of current and classic styles from Paris, London, California, and New York. The 4,000 square foot space encourages mixing and matching of designers in different price tiers, an increasingly popular strategy put...

Base
For better or worse, the Lincoln Road Mall on South Miami Beach is quite reminiscent of New York's 7th Avenue in the West Village. One shop however, Base, stands out from the rest by offering an exceptionally curated suite of both products and services. Owner Steven Giles says "we're less about labels and more about the ongoing (and less easily defined) culture of the...

If you didn't know that ACNE stands for "Ambition to Create Novel Expressions," than you also proabably weren't aware that the Swedish label is a multi-disciplinary company consisting of much more than impeccably cut jeans in amazing fabrics. With films, furniture design, architecture and their own world-class publication, it's lifestyle branding that we can actually get behind. Opened yesterday in New York City, their...

Paris Stores: April 77 and Jerome Dreyfuss
by Jason Wilson April 77 Fashion and record label April 77 has just taken up residence in a retail space right down the block from the company's headquarters. Designer Brice Partouche tapped interiors guru Steven Thomas after reading a book on Biba, the '70s retail monolith that Thomas also designed. The circular space recalls a turntable with its dark vinyl-esque floors and gleaming steel...

Brecho Luxo
Only a little more than six months old, Brecho Luxo is causing somewhat of a sensation with the fashion cult here in São Paulo. Founded by Paula Reboredo and Gil Franca, who run the São Paulo street fashion blog Freakstyle with journalist Maira Goldschmidt (that we told you about last year), opened the vintage store with a fabulously edited selection of clothes and accessories...
