Cool Hunting
I don't think that you can be any more niche than the Sucklord. He makes bootleg action figures, but unlike some who knock-off action figures, he updates well-known figures to suit his own evil needs. Perhaps you recall Gay Empire, the pink Storm Trooper that he released last year? If you missed that one, you have a rare opportunity to check out his new wares at the release party for Mary Paper$ (pictured here) and Sucklord 78 tonight, Thursday, 18 May 2006 at 7pm at Hi Five in Williamsburg, Brookyn. Mary Paper$, limited to 200 and the first to feature flocking, and both are the latest must-have collectibles from the most notorious toy brand in New York. The Galactic Jerkbag will also be available. Mary and the Sucklord will be there in costume and will be signing autographs. As the flyer says, "helmets, costumes and masks encouraged." How can you go wrong? Info and flyer after the jump.

Brevity's Rainbow, a group show opening this Friday, 8 February, at Cinders Gallery in Brooklyn is an attempt to return a sense of intimacy to the spectacle of the art show. The...
The first new record in six years deserves a party. And who rocks the party that rocks the body better than Brooklyn's Les Savy Fav? To celebrate last week's way-too-late release of Let's Stay Friends on French Kiss Records, LSF knocked off two sold-out nights in NYC, one in Williamsburg, the other at Bowery Ballroom. CH was lucky enough to survey the damage at...
It may be warm and bright outside but Beautiful/Decay magazine seems to have been languishing in darkness. Their newest, Issue S, presents a mix of ill–omened themes such as death metal, ritual suicide and the Dark Ages. Hanna Liden's eerie photo series of masked figures (cover image, above left) set in dark swamps only adds to the foreboding effect. Wu-Tang Clan's the RZA wanders...
