Lappers by Ted Cahill
Breakfast in bed becomes a lot more practical and fun this spring with the arrival of Lappers. These ergonomically designed melamine trays with unique indentations for plates and glasses come with interchangeable silicone mats that keep dishes secure and provide a myriad of contrasting color combinations. The trays have large handles, are dishwasher safe, and nest into each other for convenient storage. Lappers are made by Archer Innovations. Contact them via email (lappers [at] belsouth [dot] net) or telephone (+1 (706)-289-5736).

Scandinavian Grace
When I heard that Fredrik Larsson, owner of the Williamsburg boutique Scandinavian Grace, was opening an outpost in upstate New York, I had half a mind to take a day trip just to check it out. I still plan to but readers won't need to wait for my trip to view the interior (see more images after the jump). Located on Route 28 in...

Etienne Meneau's Little Heart Glass
After making a name for himself with a series of unusually-shaped carafes, Etienne Meneau is doing it again with his newest glass piece, named Petit Coeur (little heart). We like how the design recreates the heart in an abstract way by reinterpreting the atriums and ventricles. And is that spout the aorta? Fill it with wine and the puns/comparisons are endless. Wine is good...

The Online Toaster Museum
While we consider toast itself to be one of the greatest snacks of all time (if not for its versatility alone), The Toaster Museum, an online archive of toasters through the ages, suggests that the method of production deserves some credit too. Browsing through the beautifully-photographed and well-organized collection (you can sort using the manufacturer's name, where it was made or by material) is...

Duende Collective: La Part des Anges
Duende Collective, a French design studio based in Paris, was recently commissioned by La Cuisine, an alimentary arts center in Nègrepelisse near the Midi-Pyrénées region, for a forthcoming exhibition examining the early relationship between mother and child. The exhibition, which will open this coming September, will focus on the prenatal role of the placenta and the post-natal role of mother's milk, both as means...

The Deptford Project Cafe
The creative renaissance and urban revitalization of London continues to amaze. The Deptford Project is a creative program situated in the old railway yard of Deptford Station, the city's oldest passenger only station. To be redeveloped into a new public square by Alison Brooks Architects in 2010, the old railyard and a listed Victorian carriage ramp will serve as the fulcrum for an interim series...
