Cool Hunting
Shuttlemax Giveaway by Ami Kealoha
The good people at Kidrobot hooked us up with the last remaining limited edition yellow Shuttlemax to award to one lucky Cool Hunting reader. Signed by designer Bill McMullen, the new toy launched just last month, along with green and red versions, (check out the Cool Hunting story here), but only 100 of the bright yellow colorways were made. To win it, sign up for our newsletter here and send us your best picture of a spacecraft.
For $170, you can still get your own green or red Shuttlemax from Kidrobot.

I Am Plastic
Creepy yet cute, artist-designed and utterly collectible, the designer toy phenomenon is an accurate barometer of currents in pop culture over the last several years. Kidrobot, the most familiar name in the movement, has literally wrote the book on the subject with this month's release of I Am Plastic, a new hardcover that visually traces the nearly decade-old niche culture. Divided into sections by...

Nearly two-thirds named Fred Lorz, who was disqualified from the 1904 St. Louis Olympics for using a car (nice try all of you claiming it was a horseless carriage), but the winner (chosen at random from the correct submissions) is CH reader NL, who writes: "Spiridon Belokas is the name of the Greek...

Things and Stuff @ KidRobot
Tara McPherson is having a solo exhibit at KidRobot on Thursday 6 July 2006 where she'll be showing some things and stuff. What? "things and stuff" not descriptive enough for you? Well for those of you unfamiliar with her work, I guess not. She'll be showing some new toys, comic cover paintings, drawings, posters, art prints, stationery sets, stickers, buttons, and (you guessed it!)...
