Now skate girls have a fashion option beyond saggy-pants tomboy with the debut of Olive Oil, Olive Skateboards' line of skateboards and skate gear combining sports function with femininity. Clothing for the line, as well as some board graphics, designed by Calgary-based clothing designer Lacy Barry, come in a subdued palate of crèmes, beiges, and warm grays splashed with hot pink. Hoodies, sweaters, dresses, and skirts are made for quick movement and the simple stitching celebrates the competitive, kinetic female physique.

Huf recently released their most ambitious cut and sew line for this Spring/Summer 2008. What started out as a mainly a t-shirt brand, Keith Hufnagel (the New York skate legend who's now based out of San Francisco) has carefully crafted into a skate and street culture institution. Lakai Ltd. Tees
The Wrench Pilot Comic and its hero, Lettus Bee, ran in Transworld Skateboarding Magazine from 1989-1991. Letttus Bee was the skateboarder's "everyman" and now Lakai Ltd. has created shirts inspired by the comic strip (pictured left). Other novel designs from the Lakai collection reinterpret traditional Mary Poppins iconography with a 21st century twist (pictured right)....
