Little People: Mickey Mouse Operation by Ami Kealoha
Like others schooled in hip-hop who make electronic music, UK-based Little People (aka Laurent Clerc) is like a soundtrack to an operatic cartoon. In fact, Clerc scored films and theater before coming up with the tracks that range from atmospheric and haunting to more bouncy beats and breaks on his debut instrumental album Mickey Mouse Operation, due out 8 May 2006. The upshot is a cinematic journey—complete with bird-like sounds and outer space bleeps—that's well-suited for all-nighters, whether spent working or simply lounging.
