The Zutons: Why Won't You Give Me Your Love by SummerSeventySix

The_Zutons.jpg

With their canny use of sax, Liverpool's The Zutons are set once again to mix a bit of Mississippi madness with their Mersey roots to great effect. I'm a huge fan of their debut Who Killed The Zutons? and eagerly await the release in April of their second long-player Tired Of Hangin' Around. Stomping new single Why Won't You Give Me Your Love? is a great taster, featuring the kind of taut, sinister riff and rock 'n' roll handclaps that would make anyone dance and pout like a young, cocksure Mick Jagger. The video is also a peach, taking West Side Story as its inspiration. You can see/hear it here.

The band is playing in the U.S. this month, taking in SXSW in Austin, Texas; an NYC gig at The Mercury Lounge and appearing at the Coachella festival in California.

The Swedish Model
By Mike Giles We are all fed up with the cat and mouse game when it comes to the legalities of current music distribution models and file sharing. The Swedish Model is an organization that consists of seven Swedish indie record labels working together to restore focus on the creation of music rather than the distribution of music in the digital age. A worthy cause,...
