Job: Footwear Color Designer
Manage the Footwear Color Design process for Special Make-Up product
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a productive workflow with the departments involved in the Color Creation process and PDM system.
- Work closely with Key Account marketing and buyers to build color stories and merchandising profiles.
- To recognize and apply appropriate trend information to specific categories and create and give category presentations/boards as needed.
- Determine color and color placement for styles in various product lines based on constant and seasonal palette.
- Apply color to illustrations to show colors, lines, and placement.
- Prepare drawings for use in presentations throughout the design and manufacturing process.
- Collaborate with in-line designers and developers regarding color schemes, color stories, and placement ideas based on trends, reaction to fabric/materials, and Brand Objectives.
- Act as a color consultant to Marketing PLMs, designers, Key Accounts and subsidiaries.
- Give color and trend presentations.
- Travel to meet with Key Account buyers at their offices, up to 4x per year.
Experience
- Two year degree or equivalent from an accredited art school.
- Practical experience in a design environment--preferably working with colors and trends.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Macintosh computers using Photoshop, Free Hand, and Illustrator programs. Microsoft PowerPoint knowledge helpful.
- Thorough knowledge of art and design with clear understanding of visual design concepts, including color mixing, color compatibility, and color placement.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
