The much anticipated adicolor series began its decent on New York City this weekend with the launch of the White Series. Over at the Originals store in SoHo the adicolor box set sold out instantly, as did the pairs customized by KR (Craig Costello)—who was in the shop tagging shoes people purchased. Down in Chinatown Vinnie started his 2 week post as the beacon for anyone who wants to check out the hidden adicolor showroom.

The adicolor concept celebrates originality and encourages creativity. adicolor products will roll out over a three month period beginning with the worldwide launch of the White Series this past weekend. Originally launched in 1983, adicolor included a variety of white on white footwear models sold with brightly hued, quick drying weatherproof pens for customization.

Lots more, after the jump.

The adicolor showroom is located in the basement of an unmarked building in Chinatown. It's open from 1 - 7pm now until 31 March 2006. To get there go find Vinnie (he'll be in head-to-toe adidas) at 267 Canal Street and he'll get you there. Once you're in you'll be able to preview several of the shoes in the series, as well as much of the apparel including collaborations with Peter Saville, Jim Lambie for the Hideout, Surface to Air, Dark Horse Comics, J-Money for Dave’s Quality Meat, Cey Adams, Twist for Huf, Panini, Emilio Pucci, VICE, Fafi, Claude Closky for Colette, Keith Haring and Jeremy Scott.

An unexpected treat is an interactive video installation from Feed Tank—it's a projected dance floor with tiles move away from you when you get near them. Check out the video below to see more of the adicolor showroom and Feed Tank's installation.

On Saturday at the Originals store there was an installation of mail boxes and shoes, all painted by KR. While many of the shoes shown and sold featured his signature silver paint, some had both silver and gold. Getting in the adicolor spirit, he even painted some shoes in orange and yellow. Most people who bought a pair of KR customs got them signed by the artist and some people even had their adicolor deluxe box sets signed by him, too.

Designed by Andy Mueller, these 5 sets of shoes are available directly through The Quiet Life's online shop and at most finer skate shops and boutiques. "We've been hinting about this for months in our news section about doing one shoe with Lakai," says Andy " When they first asked us to do a...
Adicolor Spring 07
Adidas was mainly successful with it's Adicolor series last year (I say mainly successful as some of the shoes have been knocked down in the January sales) and it's looking for more of the same this year. Pictured are three new colorways hitting the usual outlets over the next few weeks. From left to right, they are the Adicolor Hi Archive Royal College, the...
adicolor Online Winner
New York-based painter Ari Lankin, 26, designed this winning pair of adidas adicolors that features a fresh purple-and-turquoise colorway and a Hokusai design—which is not only itself a perennial CH fave, but also a striking contrast to a logo pattern paying homage to the year adicolors debuted. Judged by Cey Adams, Fafi, and Crooked Tongues, Lankin's design was voted by the public out of...
adidas Materials of the World
Celebrating unique cultures of the world, adidas' Fall/Winter 2006 collection features a line of sneakers and clothing made out of fabrics sourced from Japan, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Turkey and Mexico. Often at least partially handmade, the traditional fabrics bring an old world feel to classic adidas looks, like this China bomber jacket and Japan sneaker (which is pair number one of 200). The...
