What's Up? News Map by Evan Orensten

whatsup.jpg

Jeroen Wijering is a recent graduate of the Design Academy in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. One of his most recent projects is a Flash-based news map called What's Up?. New stories are highlighted on the map, and a balloon appears with a headline; clicking on the balloon sends you to the source of the story.

We still think the Newsmap is the most successful news monitor because it also measures the volume of coverage a story is receiving, but we like Jeroen's approach and execution.

As part of the ten-day exhibition,...

Faster, Lighter, and Stronger: The New Tricked-Out Surfboards
On 5 December 2005, a day now known as “Black Monday” in the surfboard industry, the major manufacturer of the foam “blanks” that form the board's core, Clark Foam, shut its doors, ending an almost 44 year monopoly on the market.
