Slow Moving Vehicle Online Shop by Carol T Chung

SMV-purse.jpg

Back in November I wrote about Slow Moving Vehicle, graffiti art produced by L.A.-based artist Brandon Francis that's applied to canvas, t-shirts, wallets, and purses. He recently added an online shopping section to his website so that viewers can purchase directly from the source. Shown above is my favorite hand painted vintage purse.

Check out the products here. Scroll to the right for the purses, which are $45 (vintage purses are one-of-a-kind so styles may vary).

Vintage Tools
A well-made tool can last a lifetime, and it's often true that they just don't make them like they used to these days. The cleverly named Mantiques carries quality antique tools from well-known brands like Stanley, Bailey and Millers Falls. Levelers (left), bone handle knives (right), vintage flashlights, old-school binoculars (center) and even some fishing tackle are available for purchase. As functional designer objects...
429 Life
For me, basic tees all come down to comfort and cut. Made of super-soft pima cotton, 429 Life's t-shirts, polos, and henleys are hard to beat for their simplicity and attention to detail. Light and breathable, they're great for those really hot summer days and small side slits add an athletic appeal. Recently presented at the Pitti Uomo tradeshow to great fanfare, Cool Hunting...
Nike Vintage Tees
Last week Nike dropped six t-shirts with vintage graphics from the '70s exclusively at Urban Outfitters. Going hand in hand with the recent release of Nike's "Classic Kicks" (aka the Cortez, Daybreak, Waffle Racer, Oregon Waffle and the LD-1000), the shirts have retro sayings from the era, like " Hot Waffles to Go," " Have a Nike Day" (with a smiley face) and the...
Momimomi: Tar and Feathers
The Momimomi t-shirts we've come to adore and covet are coming out with a new series, Tar and Feathers. Hitting their website tomorrow, the tees are super soft and cut to fit perfectly as always, but we get a new round of great graphics. Fragmented and blotchy graphics create abstract everyday objects like a bird (above center), lightning (above left), and a leaf (above...
