LVHRD Bi-Fold Series No. 1: Paul Pope and Mark Denardo
LVHRD, a NYC-based organization behind ongoing party-slash-competitions (like a vending machine eating contest, a dance-off called "Battle of the Moves," and a New Year's eve Paul Pope with musical innovator Mark Denardo for an evening of audio-visual inspiration. We also met up with some LVHRD members to get their impressions and help tell the backstory of New York's nouveau cultural salon.

2006 NYC Tattoo Convention
On 21 May 21 we visited the seventh annual NYC Tattoo Convention at the Roseland Ballroom in Midtown Manhattan. We captured the performance of Lucky Diamond Rich, the most tattooed person in the world and met with Spider Webb, perhaps the most rebellious tattooist in history. Spider Webb was at the forefront of the movement to legalize tattooing in New York City during it's city wide ban from 1961 to 1998. Lucky Diamond Rich has been tattooed in 45 cities by 136 international tattoo artists. We caught up with Lucky on the Lower East Side of NYC after the show and discussed the life of tattoos. The following is an episode that reveals a brief glimpse into the world of ink. Headphones are suggested but not mandatory.

ITP Spring Show 2006
Last week’s Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) 2006 Spring Show was the overwhelming hive of creativity we’ve come to expect from the school. A chance for the student artists of ITP to introduce their ideas and projects to the public, the exhibition showcases a range of futuristic concepts to a capacity crowd. In this episode—the second time Cool Hunting Video has covered the event—we take a close look at a virtual pop-up book, a drawing machine, sculpture inspired by sunlight, and an orchestra made of zippers.

Milano, I Saloni
Now in its 45th year, Milan's annual international furniture fair is the largest of its kind, featuring over 2,500 exhibitors and attracting over 200,000 international visitors. This year the event inaugurated its new sprawling location at the Fieramilano. Designed by Massimiliano Fuksas, the €750M structure is the largest and most technologically-advanced trade fair complex in the world. We sat down with Manilo Armellini, the Managing Director of the Saloni on a late Friday afternoon. What began as a conversation about the enormity of the new Fieramilano slowly became a discussion about the heart of Italian production and the reason why so many designers choose to produce in Italy. We decided to allow the interview to structure a dynamic visual journey through one of the world’s most venerable design exhibitions. Enjoy.
