Cool Hunting
Christmas time rapidly approaches and the shopping season has reached a fever pitch. Luckily, Refinery29 has given us a leg up with the second installment of their holiday gift guides, covering SoHo, NoLIta, and TriBeCa in New York City. With so much ground to cover, Refinery29 has put together the essential gift list so that you'll be the hit at this year's Christmas party (the 25% off coupon at the stores ain't too shabby either). But rather than just get the Cliffs Notes, you might want to also read up on your history as the woven tie, a perennial favorite and current fashion no-brainer, gets the Past Perfect treatment. In breaking news, the import boutique Spec. has just opened a downtown New York outpost that will add some Asian spice to the chilly streets of the Big Apple. And rounding things out is a profile of Tom Binns, whose deconstruction of classic jewelry for men and women is the very essence of punk rock playfulness.

Inside the alabaster space is a meticulous selection of vintage and current collections,...
SoHo's latest additon, In God We Trust, opened 1 May 2007, and perfectly translates the curiosity/antique shop essence of its Brooklyn predecessor. Closet-like racks bear clothes and accessories by Ritten House, Shennan, Kristen Coates, Beard and Bangs, Harvey Hats, M. Carter, and Shara Porter—designers with a homespun aesthetic much like the In God We Trust label. And as for the much–loved In God We...
