Loomstate Vans by Ami Kealoha

loomstatevans.jpg

Here's a sneak peek at Loomstate's new line of Vans due out this February. Made using the same 100% organic cotton that they use to make their clothes (it's a blend of fibers from Turkey, Texas, and Kentucky that Loomstate engineered themselves), the shoes come in classic slip-on and high-top models (pictured) and they're lined in the same signature polka-dot fabric used for interior panels of their jeans.

Alexandre Herchcovitch Sneakers
At the Alexandre Herchcovitch show at São Paulo Fashion Week, the diamond patterns, gold and fluorescent hues he used on sneakers caught my eye. After the successful show, while everyone swarmed the designer backstage, I was able to get a few pics of the hi-tops as they were being put away (click images for detail). While I don't know much about them except that...
Dutch Trade Shop Iron-Ons
While part of the "joy" of crafting is making do with sub-par materials or coming up with your own elegant solutions, sometimes finding the best tools for the job makes the difference between hours of frustration and DIY satisfaction. Dutch Trade Shop iron-ons are the easiest to use and highest quality iron-ons we've found, which makes personalizing clothing and accessories a fun 20-minute project...
The North South Project
The concept of eco-chic is steadily spreading across the fashion and design worlds, as retailers are responding to consumers' rising demands for ethically and environmentally conscious products. But most companies tend to tout their eco-friendliness without providing adequate information as to exactly how their practices help the environment or promote production and trade in the developing world. Not so with North South Project, an...
Print Liberation
Philadelphia-based design studio Print Liberation carries a line of tees, prints, and accessories that will make any font nerd swoon. Printed on American Apparel, we like the layout and concept of the "Don't Give Up" tee, which avoids the bumper sticker-like pitfalls of other message shirts by using non-centered and so-clichéd-it's-meaningless text and was also one of Print Liberation's wheat paste campaigns. The same...
