Audrey Kawasaki by Carol T Chung

I was thrown this link the other night. And as I went through it, I was just astounded by how sensual and startling Audrey Kawasaki's work is. It's kinda hot and freaky so I thought I'd just share. I'm sure you're thinking "Oh great, lucky me..." But seriously, take a look for yourself. I find the looks the girls stare back at me slightly mesmerizing. Her paintings and ink illustrations are stunning. There's also a doodle page where you can see how her style has matured over the years. A former student of Pratt, she lives in L.A. now and has shown some of her work at White Walls in San Francisco.

Needs For Sale
This summer, New York City couple Christine Santora and Justin Gignac launched Wants For Sale, a site where they sell paintings of things that they want, at the cost of the real item. So a painting of a slice of pizza is only $3 while a Nintendo Wii goes for $270.92. (Your DSL must have been down if you missed it.) After starting the...
Boundless Gallery
We're always a fan of a good website stemming from simple ideas that have been competently executed. BoundlessGallery is one such site that connects thousands of artists from all over the world with potential buyers and clients, creating a global art marketplace that excludes the corpulent art dealer in the middle. After just a cursory look at some of the artists added in the...
LiMAC
LiMAC, billing itself as the Lima Museum of Contemporary Art, is in fact a fiction. It inhabits no physical space; it commissions no works; it does not host any real exhibits. The art, though, is real, taken from actual catalogs around the world to create an interesting visual visit. While not a brick-and-mortar institution, it has replicated the trappings of an art museum complete...
Sex In Art
We love the way Australian-based website Sex In Art takes a healthy peek at all things arty and well…sexual. There's some beautiful illustration work up there and some evocative photography. Heck, we're getting a little hot under the collar just thinking about it. While most of the work they feature is work friendly, some of it isn't. Still, it's worth more than a casual...
