Cool Hunting
Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans helped reintroduce novelty flavors in the youth marketplace (dirt, booger, vomit...), but Jones Soda has taken it to a new level with their 2005 Holiday Pack. Don't have time to eat your holiday dinner? You can drink it in five courses with their Broccoli Casserole, Smoked Salmon Paté, Turkey & Gravy, Corn on the Cob, and Pecan Pie flavored sodas. A second edition is available exclusively at Target (though not available online). Those flavors include: Brussels Sprout with Prosciutto, Cranberry Sauce, Turkey & Gravy, Wild Herb Stuffing, and Pumpkin Pie. We haven't gotten a hold of these yet, but I'm sure they'll go unopened when we do... Available at a store near you. Props to Jones Soda for having a little fun (and getting a little bit of notice for it).

Following the success of their Red Hummingbird on Russell Street in Melbourne (famous for its hummingbird wallpaper), the owners recently opened The Emerald Peacock bar and restaurant on Londsdale Street. While I'm sure the food and drink is fantastic, it's the sumptuous interior that's creating all the buzz. It again features signature wallpaper, used as the starting point for the entire design. Each space...

All tea comes from the same plant, Camellia sinensis, but that doesn't mean there isn't a wide variety of sub-species, different blends and flavors. Zhi Tea of Austin, Texas has dozens of flavors of tea, from a plum oolong that actually has the pleasant tartness of plums to a chocolate chai that doesn't taste like watery hot cocoa. Zhi offers gourmet organic varieties in...
For an unconventional New Year's toast, we can't think of a better option than Marumoto Brewery's Hou Hou Shu, a sparkling unfiltered Junmaishu sake. Tim and I first sampled it when we visited NYC's tofu restaurant Kyotofu and loved the light, slightly sweet flavor and gentle, natural carbonation which makes for a drinking experience very similar to champagne. At only 6% alcohol, the fruity...
Unlike most flavored vodkas that use chemical additives to get their kicks, Hangar One Raspberry Vodka is actually distilled straight from the famous Meeker raspberry harvested in Washington State. With its red color and unique taste, its a different experience altogether. Only one batch is made yearly in June, the latest was recently made available in limited quantities. The heady aroma belies a surprisingly...
"Drink water, not sugar" is the mantra of Hint Inc., a conscious beverage company whose goal is simple: to make a simple drink that tastes good. It's a fresh break from all of the "functional waters" on the line that promise all but the meaning of life. We love this summer's recently-announced four new flavors: Hibiscus Vanilla, Watermelon, Blackberry, and Watermelon....
