First & Fifteenth by Wendy Dembo
I love First & Fifteenth, a graphic novel by Steve Powers aka ESPO. I am tempted to tear out the pages and put them on my walls. But I love the stories too much. This book is done in an unique style of comic communication sans voice bubbles.
It features urban parables using imagery from: the streets, signs and advertising. The short stories about scams and daily life are all done in Power’s unique style of getting over. The characters are people you see on your block, or overhear in the subway. And the excellent anti-superhero makes appearances throughout. It is really funny, and a perfect holiday present.

Mike Perry
One of the hardest working typographers we know, Mike Perry is currently working on his second book. Check out the Brooklyn-based designer's first book, "Hand Job: A Catalog of Type," which is a great collection of hand-drawn type out out by Princeton Architectural press. It's hard to look at this site and not be motivated to get working too!...

Grafuck 2
Grafuck 2 is the second annual publication of erotic art works from husband and wife design team Fiel Valdez and Peter Vattanatham (me,me). With illustration, photography, fine art and graphic design from emerging and established artists the second installment has all the lust and humor we loved about Grafuck 1. Grafuck 2 features a double-sided centerfold by kozyndan as well as works that range...

Ashley Wood Popbot
Australian artist Ashley Wood weaves an interesting stream of thought story of sex, technology, and revenge in book 2 of Popbot. His style has the lyrical line quality of Dave McKean's work Cages. The richness of color is also similar to some of McKean's other works, but also has some of the looseness of David Mack's earlier Kabuki work. Although I draw similarities, this...

Kasper Ledet
Kasper Ledet has an impressive collection of his design, illustration and artwork on his site. The Copenhagen native has worked with a handful of studios including a design in a book produced by Design Is Kinky. Whats most impressive and eye catching about his works unique style is he is only 17 years old and has no formal design training whatsoever. It's very inspiring...

Antonio Carvalho
The wild illustrations of Antonio Carvalho have recently been featured in Pictoplasma, the character illustration book and Web site. His work is inspired by childhood fantasies of creatures hiding in the refrigerator. I think they're all pretty great, except the clowns. Clowns freak me out. But maybe that's what he's going for. Here Antonio shares a personal statement and some of his more recent...

Alfred Kubin: Graphic Works 1897-1910
Marked by eerie, nightmarish imagery, the work of Alfred Kubin seems awfully appropriate on Halloween. The Austrian artist mined the depths of the human subconscious to craft some of the most enduringly spectral drawings, watercolors and lithographs. The recently-released monograph "Graphic Works 1897-1910" accompanies the retrospective by the same name that is currently on display at the Neue Galerie New York, which focuses on...
