Sport Beans
by Evan Orensten
In the same vein as Gummi bear vitamins for kids and hair gel that looks like a Listerine strip comes another interesting half-breed: Performance Candy. Sport Beans are jelly beans that are "formulated with carbohydrates, electrolytes, and vitamins C and E." Nutritional information on the site puts them against the popular sports supplements (where they appear to do pretty well). And we thought natural products like Zico were gaining ground against sugary energy drinks...
Jones Soda Co. 2005 Holiday Pack
by Evan Orensten
Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans helped reintroduce novelty flavors in the youth marketplace (dirt, booger, vomit...), but Jones Soda has taken it to a new level with their 2005 Holiday Pack. Don't have time to eat your holiday dinner? You can drink it in five courses with their Broccoli Casserole, Smoked Salmon Paté, Turkey & Gravy, Corn on the Cob, and Pecan Pie flavored sodas. A second edition is available exclusively at Target (though not available online). Those flavors include: Brussels Sprout with Prosciutto, Cranberry Sauce, Turkey & Gravy, Wild Herb Stuffing, and Pumpkin Pie. We haven't gotten a hold of these yet, but I'm sure they'll go unopened when we do... Available at a store near you. Props to Jones Soda for having a little fun (and getting a little bit of notice for it).
