Umbro and Kim Jones for Fantastic Man by Josh Rubin
Starting 13 October and running for a month, a series of Polaroids by Behnaz Aram, Gert Jonkers and Kim Jones will be on exhibit at Beneath. The Stockholm based show has been created in collaboration with Kim Jones for Umbro to launch the second issue of the new gentlemen's fashion magazine Fantastic Man and the photographs are created by members of all three parties. The subjects include journalists, musicians, models and others the photographers admire, each clothed in Umbro by Kim Jones.

Format Magazine #12: Women's history month special
In celebration of women's history month, Format Magazine #12 highlights some of the rising female stars out there making moves in urban culture, a traditionally male-dominated market. Within the streetwear scene, it's rare to see a women's line that's not an extension of a pre-existing brand, but Gabriella Davi-Khorasanee of Mama (above right) founded one of the premier and only independent female street-wear brands....

WESC Soho
One of the hottest new arrivals topping the list of Manhattan shopping destinations is the WESC Store in SoHo. The Swedish-based WESC (aka WeAretheSuperlativeConspiracy) creates a line of street clothes with its roots in skateboard culture but also delivers "after the skate," a highly-developed line of apparel that targets people outside of the boarding community. Like true street subculture, they embrace the concept of...

Shop Gentei
Shop Gentei, the concept store that opened October 1st in Baltimore, Maryland is the brainchild of 28-year old designer Oliver Jones. Two years in the making, Jones waited until Baltimore's scene could support a themed boutique - currently Military, the theme will change bi-annually - that carries limited edition sneakers and off-the-beaten-path streetwear, like his own Slyandrobby line and Japan's Mackdaddy. Blag
Neatly solving a toss-up between putting hip-hop balladeer Common (pictured left) or Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd on the cover, British magazine Blag chose both, placing the former on the front and the latter on the back. That kind of casual innovation is the norm for this arts-and-culture tome, founded over a decade ago and produced by twins Sarah and Sally Edwards. The most recent...

Shopping Vancouver: 4 Favorites
In the last 24 hours I've hoofed all over most of downtown Vancouver looking for hot retail and interesting products. This is a great little city with lots to see and do, but being the turbo consumer that I am, my focus was clear. Results after the jump....

Interview with Erik Madigan Heck of Nomenus Quarterly
by Laura Neilson In 2007, 23-year-old Erik Madigan Heck founded Nomenus Quarterly with the kind of arrogant fervor that only someone at that age could pull off. And perhaps it was that very same aplomb that made the multifaceted art and fashion publication so notoriously successful. Just one glance at the archives' roster of featured artists, designers and contributors, including Dries Van Noten, Helmut...
