Green Lady: 10 Years by Ami Kealoha

greenladybook.jpg

The design duo of Todd St. John and Gary Benzel who go by the name Green Lady, celebrate 10 years in the business with a new book published by Arkitip. Also the force behind HunterGatherer - a cross-disciplinary counterpart - the two have been responsible for MTV interstitials, animation and press kit design for Nike Considered (covered here), and have emblazoned wallets and skateboards with their trademark cartoony woodgrain.

The book launches November 3rd along with an accompanying exhibit that runs through November 20th at the Riviera Gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Pre-order the title through Arkitip.

Stencil1 Minis
About two years back we put the word out about a Brooklyn-based graphics company releasing its first volume of graffiti stencils. Well, to keep you in the loop, a second volume is out and we're pretty pleased with the results. Stencil1 has just released a new series of minis. While the first set was larger (8 1/2" x 11"), this edition of pre-cut mylar...
Transmaterial Book
Transmaterial, Blain Brownell's wonderful newsletter of all sorts of building material innovations, is finally being published as a book. Tile Toy and Flexicomb are just a couple of the fascinating things we found out about through TM and we're looking forward to the book both as brain candy and as a resource for more. There will be over 200 items not previously shared and...
Grafuck
Grafuck a new book published by newly formed husband-and-wife design team me, me (Fiel Valdez and Peter Vattanatham) is the latest offering of something other than the platform stiletto and waxed chest versions of sexy pictures. Valdez and Vattanatham tasked a mix of international artists and designers with making imagery based on what many people still consider verboten and the upshot is a volume...
Glorious Graphics
We've all long been warned not to judge a book by its cover, but seeing this delectable jacket by designers Non-Format was enough to cause me to brush conventional wisdom aside and purchase Sean Wilsey's recent autobiography on spec. The team's online portfolio is a tour of handsomely au courant graphic design. Their works are both modern and organic, featuring a complementary mix of...
