Cool Hunting
The Be@rbrick World Wide Tour is coming to NYC next week, running 13 - 25 September. Celebrating Medicom's iconic Be@rbrick toy, artists and designers were invited to apply their style to a blank white bear. Mastermind Japan, featured on the right, is one of the 40+ creators-- others include Hiroshi Fujiwara, James Jarvis, Kaws, Delta, Pete Fowler, Futura and WK Interact.
Exhibition details, more preview pics and the shoe Nike made for all the artists, after the jump.
The exhibition will be held at the GBE At Passerby Gallery in Chelsea, 13 - 25 September and will be open daily from 11AM-6PM. GBE At Passerby Gallery is located at 436 West 15th St.
There will be Be@rbricks for sale as well as a sleek silver book with details on every piece in the show.
Nike is sponsoring the NYC installation and will be exhibiting a Mayfly that features the Be@rbrick design. That shoe will be available for purchase after 17 September. They also produced a run of Mayflies just for the artists in the show, pictured below.
The Mayfly is a minimal racing flat engineered to last for 100km of running. The edition made for the Be@rbrick artists features a pattern of Be@rbricks, the logo and icon.
The pattern is more clearly visible on the shoe bag that comes with each pair.
