Spell It Out by Parker Hutchinson

The craft-loving ReadyMade, a magazine once described to me as "Martha Stewart Living for hipsters," is offering a few great items from the lesser-known retail side of their operation. The customizable "Make-A-Sign" is a cheap and fun way to bring classic diner charm into the home. The menu board, available in 5x7" and 8x10", comes with a set of ever-rearrangeable letters that, in the spirit of the publication, provides an opportunity for a little hands-on creativity. They're available for $22 and $32, respectively, from the mag's online store.

Nylon Guys
The super glossy product magazine coveted by the ladies is no longer just for the them--Nylon recently introduced a magazine targeted at "hip guys", called Nylon Guys. My fav, Spank the Monkey (above), was made exclusively for Ready Made magazine. All Poketo wallets are made available in highly limited editions sold on their web site. via Crown Dozen...

The four designers work collaboratively and individually, each...
The New York Times Magazine Redesign
A little over a week ago on 14 June 2009 one of my favorite magazines, The New York Times Magazine, quietly unveiled a new design and format in an effort to cut costs and waste (there were two artist designed covers for the 14 June issue, shown above). Announced in that issue's editor's letter by Gerald Marzorati, I'm surprised how under the radar it...
