Gorillaz Mash-up Winner by Josh Rubin

Gorillaz4-Guitar-1

If you happened to catch Cool Hunting in the right moment a few weeks back you saw that we were running a Gorrilaz mash-up contest. Unfortunately we were asked to take the contest down after a day, but that didn't stop a bunch of readers from submitting entries.

The good news is that we're still giving away the custom skate deck designed by Gorillaz creator Jamie Hewlett(pictured after the jump). And the exciting news is that we have a winner! Cheekyboy, a DJ in Essex, mashed up Feel Good Inc with Oh My Gosh by the Basement Jaxx. I can't distribute the track here, but if you're so motivated I'm sure you can find it.

More like a throwback to old school rap, the Crew represents all that is great about the Bay Area's music scene. Danesh, who lives in beautiful Tiburon, across the Bay from San Francisco, brings together disparate sounds, including pepper-infused salsa set to funky urban...
Rewind this Video: M.I.A.'s Galang

M.I.A. has returned me to the realm of obsessive teenage excitement with her exuberant fuck it all style. (I want to be just like her! We’'re both Dragons!) She’s a hyper-conscious, ultra-cool, bi-...
Rootbeer
Recently formed hip-hop duo, Rootbeer (Pigeon John and Flynn Adam), have just dropped a super fresh piece of audio pie right in your kitchen. Influenced by artists such as MGMT, N.E.R.D and A Tribe Called Quest, Rootbeer offer up an edgy and unfeigned lyrical style. Turn up their debut release, The Pink Limousine EP, to eleven. You'll find it impossible not to make shapes....
Lego Hip Hop Album Covers
The progressive online publication, Format Magazine, just took playing with Legos to a whole new level with their collection of 20 classic (and some not-so-classic) hip hop album covers recreated with those iconic plastic Lego men. Shot in the Format studio by Nick Hanekom, and graphically produced by beat-maker Glen Manucdoc, the little Lego guys assume the notorious album cover poses once carried about by...
