Gorillaz Mash-up Winner
by Josh Rubin
If you happened to catch Cool Hunting in the right moment a few weeks back you saw that we were running a Gorrilaz mash-up contest. Unfortunately we were asked to take the contest down after a day, but that didn't stop a bunch of readers from submitting entries.
The good news is that we're still giving away the custom skate deck designed by Gorillaz creator Jamie Hewlett(pictured after the jump). And the exciting news is that we have a winner! Cheekyboy, a DJ in Essex, mashed up Feel Good Inc with Oh My Gosh by the Basement Jaxx. I can't distribute the track here, but if you're so motivated I'm sure you can find it.
Apple Mighty Mouse
by Josh Rubin
Aside from a mobile phone, there isn't anything I've waited longer for Apple to make.
The Mighty Mouse is a programmable 5 button mouse with a scroll ball instead of a scroll wheel. The ball allows for vertical and horizontal scrolling as well as clicking. The shell design is clean and distinctively Apple, with its cleanliness afforded by the fact that the left and right click buttons are touch sensitive and don't need moving parts and therefor seams.
$49 at Apple (apparently stocked and ready to ship)
Footwear News: Small World
by Josh Rubin
Cool Hunting sneaker freaks around the globe are taking their latest obsession online-- and discovering they're not alone.
"Similar to any other topic, the Internet has helped spread communication more quickly," said Josh Rubin, founding editor of Coolhunting.com, a New York-based blog he began just over two years ago as "a running database of things I like. In the case of sneakers, news used to be spread by word of mouth in different shops in urban areas. The Internet has helped create a broader, more diverse audience of collectors."

Nike Stash and Futura Dunk
by Josh Rubin
255, the Nike iD boutique in Manhattan's Nolita, typically plays host to a small group of invited guests. Sometimes, though, larger parties are thrown. Such was the case a couple months back when Stash and Futura brought along 30 friends.
That night the graf artist and the shop keep designed a shoe together and even made a logo to go along with it. And Nike manufactured a pair for everyone in attendance. As far as I know, this is the first picture of the Stash and Futura Dunk. I like how the simple earthy tones are contrasted by the bright turquoise and blue logo.
So what else is news at 255? The lottery is up on the Nike iD site, the NYC location will remain open through the holidays and new boutiques are being planned for Milan, Paris and London.
UPDATE: Thanks to all of you in Italy who wrote in to point out that the Stash / Futura logo is identical to the Trenitalia's. I'm trying to track Stash or Futura to find out what they have to say about it, so stay tuned for more.
