Lounges by Brodie Neill

by Parker Hutchinson

brodieneill.jpg

We don't know much about the works of Aussie designer Brodie Neill except that his space-age furniture designs appeal to both our minds and behinds. Two low-lying lounges by the young RISD graduate particularly caught our attention: his curvaceous ML61K bench (above) and his plywood-based SKL seat (below). While we aren't sure where you can buy them, you can certainly ogle these and other designs at his online portfolio.

Nom de Guerre

by Parker Hutchinson

nomdeguerre.jpg

New York art and fashion collective Nom de Guerre launched its new site just days ago in preparation for the release of its Fall/Winter '05 collection. Their first-ever foray into menswear will feature what the company calls "utilitarian luxury-basics," fashionably simple shirts, sweaters, scarves, and slacks. The subculture-obsessed group, whose flagship Manhattan store is a former Black Panthers hideaway, will be opening up shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, this August to coincide with the release of its new line. In both locations, you'll also find collaborative clothing efforts with Buzz Ricksons, Adidas, and Mackintosh, as well as joint footwear ventures with Converse, Russell Moccasin Company, and Tricker's.
