Cool Hunting
On a wave of rampant sneaker customization comes a clever and rather timely coloring book by Andrew Freeborn. The footwear fan has compiled his black-and-white drawings of classic kicks and is leaving it up to you to fill in the lines. If you can't quite afford to high-roll at the Nike iD Lab, dust off your crayons and create your fantasy pair from home. The book features over 25 shoes from yesteryear and today by Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Converse, Saucony, Asics, Reebok, Puma, and Vans, as well as sneaker-themed games like a word search, a maze and connect-the-dots. Whether for yourself or your hipster-in-training toddler, the book is available online for $14, including shipping. While the resulting designs won't be very wearable, they're sure to bring out the creative side in even the smallest of shoe lovers.

Then, of course, is the fact that you can customize your shoes to fit your specific taste. Among the more intriguing promotions they're running are the...
Continuing to push the limits of sportswear innovation, the Zoom Victory Spike and Precool vest are two Nike products that impressed us when introduced at their media summit earlier this week. The Zoom Victory spike takes its design inspiration from the engineering of a suspension bridge, lending strength with minimal use of materials. (We think it looks a lot like a Calatrava, pictured via Lost...
With the Beijing Olympic Games just around the corner, it's only fitting that Nike release a pack of sneakers celebrating various Chinese Olympic Athletes from the past. Featuring traditional Chinese colors with some Olympic accents, I especially like the Air Max 1 version. Other silhouettes in the pack include the Blazer Low, Dunk Trainer High, Vintage Nylon Cortez, Court High Force and Wildwood90 Free...
The folks responsible for starting the whole limited-edition trend are at it again with the Nike Be True City Collection. Continuing to torture their customers with skinny releases, only be 86 pairs of each color will be available in seven select cities—New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Rio de Janiero. After that you're gonna have to comb eBay. I haven't...
