Lovely Address File by Parker Hutchinson

foto_address2.jpg

As the modern world speeds towards complete digital integration, we're silently mourning the fact that some of life's simplest pleasures are thrown out the window in the name of progress. Just last week, our copy of The Sunday Times was pointed out as "analog chic," and even the post lady scoffed at my request to buy stamps for my paper correspondences. If you're as disconcerted as we are, Lovely's Address File may serve as a proper throwback to all this binary bedlam. Whether you're running Outlook or Address Book, this limited-edition delectable serves as a simple and stunning way to backup all your contacts. Its maple base houses 260 cards of found paper in various colors and patterns. Each file set measures 7" by 5" and is numbered as part of a short run of 1000. They retail for $75 at Lovely Design, home to numerous other analog delights.

Royal Tichelaar Makkum Work Table Lamp
After looking at an abundance of wiry, steel desk lamps that all felt a bit too stale, lifeless and boring, I found the Royal Tichelaar Makkum Work Table Lamp. Made of Oak, glazed white ceramic and using a low wattage halogen bulb, it gives off a certain warmth that others just can't compete with. Industrial tailor Dick van Hoff worked with the four-century-old Dutch...
Rhodia Meeting and Reverse Books
Rhodia's waterproof orange covers have long been the notebook of choice for creative types. The French brand's two new spiral bound options, Meeting and Reverse, are sure to win some followers as well. We're torn on the whole spiral vs. bound debate (spiral lays flat and flips around while binding slips into a bag easier), so we're glad to see Rhodia getting in on...
Haworth Zody Office Chair
I was very reluctant to give up my Aeron but decided to give Haworth's Zody chair a try. It comes with all the bells and whistles you come to expect from high end office chairs but with less of a jaw dropping price tag. A number of cranks, pulls and buttons create a fully customizable fit—the most innovative being an adjustable lumbar support (above...
Vintage Penguin and Pelican Book Covers
Known for their classic pocketable paperbacks, both Penguin and Pelican also were behind some of the more era-defining book covers of the 60's and 70's. Designer Joe Kral's online collection is a great repository of the retro bold graphics and warm colors for anyone who's ever bought a book solely for its cover. Also on Cool Hunting: The Condiment Packet Museum, Cassette Jam 05...
