Wood Exorcist

Yann Hervis is a rare craftsman of inlaid wood marquetry, bridging into contemporary art and interior design. His refined combination of precious woods humanizes the usually cold transit spaces of architectural projects: lobbies, doors, staircases, ceilings, elevators... In the process, while experimenting with the natural grains of wood, their colours, densities, textures, and natural dyes, he came to create his signature "palimpsests". By combining vacuum pressed collage with high pressure sand blasting, he created his own technique on strata of precious woods he attacks with sand, revealing inlaid calligraphies, secret figures imprinted deep in the wood's unique history.

A militant vegan bag lady, Holly Suan mixes bold, aunties' fabrics from Hong Kong, China and Korea, with modern confusion and performance art. Using strictly vegetal leather, the British-Malaysian designer from London works out of Hong Kong, selling to Top Shop Oxford St in London, AndA Tokyo, AO2 and in Hong Kong.

Puma Clyde

Puma is reminding us of their roots by digging in to the archives, pulling the icons and recreating them in the same colors and materials as they were originally available. The first in the Archive Series: The Clyde made famous in the 70s by the endorsement of New York Knicks' Walt Frazier.

A preliminary release of The Clyde will hit select retailers this Saturday, with more to follow in the Fall. Specific details from Puma after the jump.

UPDATE: Alife will be hosting a re-launch event with special Walt Frazier who will be signing shoes. Saturday, 2 - 4pm.
