Meet the Cinema at CONDESAdf by Ami Kealoha

condesa.jpg

CONDESAdf, the design hotel that opened January in Mexico City's trendy la Condesa neighborhood, introduces a free Summer movie series in their sub-level theater. "Hotel Stories" inaugurates the program with features like "Lost in Translation," and in July the "Sea and Water" theme will include screenings of "The Life Aquatic" and "Breaking the Waves." Early evening showtimes -- at 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays -- mean you can beat the heat in their air-conditioned cinema and still have time for a bite in their rooftop sushi restaurant before hitting the town.

Also, look out for their CD, "Meet la Music" due out from Warner soon.

Reservations are available via Design Hotels.

Grand Hotel Central
I had the pleasure of spending this past weekend at the boutique Grand Hotel Central situated in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. The Grand has pulled off the rare feat of blending in completely with the city, making a stay in the hotel a perfectly subtle complement to one of the most exciting cities in the world. The hotel is constructed in the shell...
Quinta da Romaneira in Northern Portugal's Winelands
by Juliet Kinsman Cobbled and colonial but also contemporary and quirky, I recently had the chance to stay at the brand-new Douro Valley hotel, Quinta da Romaneira. From one look at the interior design it's clear that super-picky attention to detail is paramount. Thierry Teyssier, the creator of Quinta dos Sonhos (Romaneira's Portuguese name) considered every color, visualized every view, procured the highest spec...
Fuchun Resort in Hangzhou, China
By Juliet Kinsman We assume that many of the athletes and some spectators will be doing a bit of travel outside of Beijing after the Olympics. A three hour drive southwest of Shanghai on the outskirts of Hangzhou, we recommend staying at Fuchun Resort if you're in the area. Pronounced 'Foo-choo-win,' it's the ultimate antidote to bright lights and big cities. Designed by Jean-Michel...
Hotel Sezz
On a recent trip to Paris I had the pleasure of staying at the boutique Hotel Sezz, located in the 16th arrondissement, steps from the Seine, about 400 yards from the Eiffel Tower and just a few blocks away from the #6 metro. For all that, the small boutique hotel is located on a tranquil, very residential street, making for a more authentic Parisian...
