MomiMomi by Josh Rubin

Momimomi Faces

Born in New York in 2001 and now based in LA, MomiMomi makes t-shirts that are buttery soft, perfectly fitting and phenomenally styled. In their own words:

MomiMomi (moe-me, moe-me) is a t-shirt lab concentrating on designs of simplicity and comfort, the aim of our work is to conflate graphics and wear-ablity. That is, we seek to treat the t-shirt as a billboard for the body, developing imagery that both acknowledges and highlights the human form, and subverts conventional perceptions of it.

And what does MomiMomi mean? It's Japanese and means 'anything you can do with two hands.' It has both innocent and dirty inferences, but is generally used when describing a massaging feeling. I think it describes how I felt when I put one on yesterday-- mm, mm good.

Art, Design and Technology for Obama
Of the many history-making aspects of Obama's run for President, the art and design that's come out of it isn't insignificant. From the identity of the campaign itself to Shepard Fairey's pioneering grassroots poster, the Obama brand has taken on a life of its own. Naturally, the internet is fertile ground for expressing support and Facebook groups, websites for creating custom logos and even...
Get Well Soon Mask
A common courtesy when feeling under the weather in most Far East Asian countries, the ubiquitous protective face masks made famous during the SARS scare in 2002 have since served as a canvas for many a commentary. Departing from the sterile, white gauze variety, Samira Boon recreated the typical protective mask with clever, playful and at times beautiful ink-jet prints that transform the face....
