Magppie Bottle Opener by Ari Bendersky

magppie_bottle.jpgKarim Rashid-designed bottle opener from Magppie (yes, it has two Ps). Sure, it looks like a space-aged Weeble or Gloop and Gleep from the Herculoids, but this elegant device does a lot more than worry about falling down. Its ergonomic design sits comfortably in your hand, while the splash of orange in the groove adds just enough color to give this piece a hip touch.

The company’s tagline, Form Follows Emotion, seems to run through each design, and its lineup of internationally renowned celebrity designers, including Rashid, Nicolas Nicolaou and Luca Trazzi, adds a level of cachet where other homeware companies fall short.
