This model is called the "Novalite" and is one of the more complex pieces. It's constructed of 72 interlocking pieces. It's inspired by snowflakes, sea urchins, and complex forest seeds--it shines a kaleidoscope type pattern. The lights are all shipped flat and you assemble them when you get them.

Liberty Tiles
Trend USA's new collection called Liberty, designed by the skilled Italian mosaic artist Giulio Candussio, is a modern update to the ancient artform perfected by Greek and Roman artists thousands of years ago. The way the hand-cut glass tiles catch light is simply exquisite. (See another image after the jump.) With a material make-up of at least 25% recycled content, your empty beer bottles...

P.A.M. x Undercover Shade Lamp
Using macabre imagery to form an eerily symbolic sculptural piece, Jun Takahashi of Undercover joined forces with P.A.M. to create the Shade Lamp. The scene depicts a tree growing out of (or through?) a skull in a cemetery somewhere with the branches (fittingly) holding the shade. For mood lighting, I like the green and gold eyes, but my favorite part of the lamp has...

Mealbox
Now imagine all of that above fitting into all of that to the right. You might be exclaiming "Oh golly! Those ever so clever designer folk! What will they think of next?!" Or perhaps a simple "WTF?" sums it all up. Anyway, this packageable Japanese style dinning table, appropriately dubbed as Mealbox, was created by Igland Design, a husband and wife duo based in...

RISD's New Digs
Known for alumni who consistently go on to shine in nearly every creative field from architecture to cinematography, it's only logical to apply the principles of good design taught at RISD to daily life in the dorms. It's even better still to use in-house talent like planners did when confronted with furnishing a new dorm. The housing director turned to DEZCO, a firm made...
