Google Maps Meets Craigslist
by Josh Spear
In my mind this little utility is simply just a genius mix. The cross pollination of two of the best resources available on the internet-- Google's new mapping service, and the classified listings page, Craigslist. This utility lets you surf both at once-- you can select city, price range, and drag along a map while seeing icons representing apartments for rent or sale. It shows you which listings have pictures, and which don't--and even gives little thumbnails of the property. Make sure to use Firefox if you're on a Mac, Safari is a little weird with it.
Stanley Vacuum Bottle: Pastel Color for Spring
by Ari Bendersky
Vacuum Bottle. In fact, the company had women in mind when they revamped its classic half-quart stainless steel canister. Stanley released a new version, updating the almost-century-old thermos by streamlining the vacuum seal, widening the opening for easy drinking and adding ice cubes and introducing three new colors to join the classic green all pastels: pink, light blue and violet. Now soccer moms and NASCAR dads can hit the grandstands with hot cocoa, cold soda or gasp Long Island iced tea!
Volcano Stadium
by Josh Spear
Studio Massaud, clearly have a wonderful imagination. These are computer generated images of a new soccer stadium set to look like a mexican volcano--they won a competition to design this new stadium. Advertisements will be projected on the "cloud" above, which will be made of stretched fabric to protect spectators from the elements. The rest of the stadium will be set inside the volcano shaped hill. Their is a nice interview with the designers at Interior Design.
