Clocky

by Josh Rubin

Clocky-Closeup

Wake up, people! There’s finally a solution for those of us who just can’t get out of bed in the morning. The Clocky is an alarm clock on wheels. When the alarm clock goes off and the snooze button is pressed, Clocky, which is affectionately wrapped in brown shag carpet, will roll off the bedside table and onto the floor until it finds a suitable spot to hide and rest. When Clocky’s alarm sounds again, the sleeper must get out of bed and search for the clock, ensuring the person is awake before turning it off.

Thanks to Sara Blask for the contribution!

Announced yesterday, the 8800 is the latest in Nokia's high-end slider series (my personal favorite of all the range). Featuring a stainless steel case and a ball bearing assisted slider, this statement in elegance is also packed with the usual array of features-- SVGA camera, Bluetooth, Triband GSM, high res screen, mp3 ring tones, digital music player, 3d rendering engine and more. What's even more compelling is that the ring tones were composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto.

Jason Miller's Daydreams

by Josh Rubin

Jason Miller latest work is a series of mirrors, titled Daydreams, that take you away to a serene and surreal place. Acid etching and digital printing enable the application of an image in to the mirror. When you look at yourself you're transplanted in to the scene, but the room reflected behind you doesn't let you go far. Jason says both images are from New Jersey and are intended to keep the fantasy accessible, not like a post card presenting a place that seems unattainable.

Daydreams includes a forest scene and an ocean scene, each piece measures 20" x 30," and they retail for $400 at The Future Perfect

Slip-on Chucks

by Josh Rubin

Slip-On Chucks Pink-1
Low-rise Chucks are among the more perfect Summer shoe. Getting one step closer to perfection is this year's lost lace slip-on version. The bottom part of the tongue is stitched in to place and the top part has a bit of elastic. It's available in a wide variety of colors and in a limited edition collaboration with John Varvatos that has a clear sole, pinstripe interior and red All Star logos.

$95 for the Varvatos
$45 for the basics

The EarBud Challenge

by Ari Bendersky

Etymotic_earphones.jpg6isolator Earphones, a set of in-ear earphones designed in the same manner as EarLove, but as a sonic helper specifically for iPods. This got me thinking about other in-ear devices so I popped over to Shure and found their E3c Sound Isolating Earphones.

A challenged was hatched.
