Tretorn Nylite by Josh Rubin
The Tretorn Gullwing Nylite first hailed from Sweden in 1964. It was THE tennis shoe to wear in the 70s and lost ground in the 80s with the rise of you-know-who. Now, over 40 years later, the original is back along with some reinterpreted cousins. I think it's all about the elegant simplicity of the Nylite, but you can check out the entire collection here.

Puma Clyde
Puma is reminding us of their roots by digging in to the archives, pulling the icons and recreating them in the same colors and materials as they were originally available. The first in the Archive Series: The Clyde made famous in the 70s by the endorsement of New York Knicks' Walt Frazier. A preliminary release of The Clyde will hit select retailers this Saturday,...

Nike Zoom Victory Spike and Precool Vest
Continuing to push the limits of sportswear innovation, the Zoom Victory Spike and Precool vest are two Nike products that impressed us when introduced at their media summit earlier this week. The Zoom Victory spike takes its design inspiration from the engineering of a suspension bridge, lending strength with minimal use of materials. (We think it looks a lot like a Calatrava, pictured via Lost...

Nike 1984 Tier 0 Olympic Pack
With the Beijing Olympic Games just around the corner, it's only fitting that Nike release a pack of sneakers celebrating various Chinese Olympic Athletes from the past. Featuring traditional Chinese colors with some Olympic accents, I especially like the Air Max 1 version. Other silhouettes in the pack include the Blazer Low, Dunk Trainer High, Vintage Nylon Cortez, Court High Force and Wildwood90 Free...

Tretorn Nylite Sail
Updating their classic Nylites for summer, Tretorn swapped in recycled sail for the usual canvas or leather in these Nylite Sails. The result is an off-white sneaker with all the clean elegance of the original with a lighter, breezier feel and a wipe-off surface. Tretorn's been busy resurrecting their brand over the last couple of years, like by reissuing the Nylite in 2005 (40 years...

Blackminton
Looking like Tron picked up a racket, Blackminton is a faster, nighttime version of badminton where players covered in fluorescent paint hit a glow–in–the dark shuttlecock on black–lit courts. The sport is a spin–off of Speedminton©, which combines elements of tennis, badminton and squash, and was created in Berlin in 2002 to combat the stuffy image the original, slower game had. Now they've upped...
