Cool Hunting
Ari K is down in Miami at the M3 (Miami, Music, Multimedia) conference. He's done us a favor and put up a blog to report on all the festivities. We'll put up a highlights post when the conference is all over, but for a play-by-play go to Nu Groove.
What's Ari's schtick? Bio after the jump.
Colombian native Ari Kuschnir is a mindfully enthusiastic creative producer. At 24, Ari has challenged himself repeatedly to sharpen his skill at whatever happens to be inspiring him at the moment. The result has created a nascent artist who can find the perfect song on vinyl, shoot the music video, coordinate the behind the scenes documentary, manage the egos, light the scene, develop the print, edit the footage, package it up, sell it, and suggest the best wine, beer, food and venue for the after party where you will find him controlling the selection and amplitude of music that you’ve probably never heard before. You can catch Ari somewhere between producing innovative projects with [m ss ng p eces] business partner Scott Thrift in New York, editing music videos for MVJET Productions or spinning records at local [Miami] high profile venues and also at 88.9 FM WDNA in his new time slot Saturdays from 4 to 6pm.

As promised, Ari Kushnir delivers a full report on last week's Music, Multimedia, Miami conference. In addition to reporting on all the music festivities, Ari notes that "backed up with events like Art Basel and the M3 Summit, the future of Miami is brighter and hotter than the sand at noon." Just when we thought they couldn't possibly fit any new music festivals into Barcelona's already beat-filled summers, we hear that the organizers of Summercase, Sinnamon Productions, will introduce Daydream, a new one-day festival. What's more, they secured Radiohead's only date in Spain this year. This is no mean feat since Radiohead's been getting serious about their envrionmental footprint and are loath to tour, restricting...
Cool Hunting traveled to Chicago this past weekend for Lollapalooza. Here's a highlight band from each day: Friday, 3 August: Daft Punk An incredible performance by Daft Punk (pictured above) topped off the first day of the festival. While the hippies were "chilling" to Ben Harper on the opposite side of the park, the rest of us were getting crazy with Daft Punk. When...
Sunshine, blue skies, sand, sea and waves—sound waves that is— are all elements of summers in Barcelona, the epicenter of summer music festivals. This past weekend the city danced to the happy sounds of Summercase. Now in its second year, the newer, lighter and fluffier festival on the block displayed its youthfulness with a decidedly upbeat line-up, in contrast with the darker edgier sounds...
This is how public transport should be done. Unveiled Monday and travelling back and forth between London and Manchester, this tricked-out locomotive from Gorillaz aritst Jamie Hewlett is to promote the forthcoming circus/opera he's involved with called Monkey: Journey To The West . It's based on an ancient Chinese legend and the music has been composed by Hewlett's partner in the cartoon band, Damon...
In this video we visit the 19th annual Dachshund Spring Fiesta in NYC's Washington Square Park. Put on by the Dachshund Friendship Club, the event is one of two get-togethers they hold each year and draws hundreds of Dachsies and their owners. The only official activity is the singing of the Dachshund Song, composed by Murray Weinstock (who also made a CD of "dog...
