adidas Y-3 by Josh Spear

y-3spring.jpg

Yohji Yamamoto's alliance with adidas on Y-3 is one of my all time favorite fashion collaborations. They recently launched their Spring/Summer ’05 campaign, and it’s everything you’d expect and more from Yamamoto. Quirky, clever, and some simply out there-- all Y-3 signature designs. You can view the line of men’s and women’s fashion, a horde of accessories, and some really great classic Yamamoto style shoes on their impressive site. I can’t imagine these pieces will be available for very long-- they move into the rare find and highly coveted state pretty quickly.

A.R.C. Sports Store
Of streetwear pioneer Alife's many 2008 accomplishments—which include fresh collaborations (see their Lacoste Polos and the Parra x Patta sneaker for a couple of our favorites) and stores opening in Tokyo and Los Angeles—what might be the most significant for the seven-year-old brand is the introduction of their new NYC retail location, the A.R.C. Sports Store. Opened Monday directly across the street from their...
Converse 1HUND(RED) x Wood Wood All Star Hi-Top
As the 26th artist to work with Converse's current creative initiative, the 1HUND(RED) Artists' footwear collaboration for PRODUCT (RED), CH favorites Wood Wood designed a stylish monochromatic rendition of the classic Chuck Taylor. A minimalist take on the All Star Hi-Top, the Danish group used a smooth suede upper, laces and sole — all in a matching powdery grayish purple. The perforated upper reveals...
Puma x Atmos x Mitsuaki Iwago: Endangered Species Asia Pack
by Kyle Small Next Monday, 28 July 2008, Puma's second series in collaboration with NYC store Atmos and National Geographic photographer Mitsuaki Iwago drops, doubling the small collection from three to six. In addition to the noble purpose of building awareness surrounding endangered animals throughout the world and bringing to light the significance of their possible extinction, we think they make pretty good-looking pairs of...
Rockwell x Alife x Patta: Everybody Mid Rap
A collaboration between illustrator Parra Rockwell, Amsterdam's Patta and seasoned veterans Alife, the Everybody Mid Rap has some texture and color details that made me take notice. A mix of materials, including Nubuck suede, nylon and leather, compartmentalizes the vibrant, otherwise monochrome blue, making for an appealing contrast in textures. The clear sole, red trim and alternating lace holes are also an attractive touch....
