365 Days of Design by Josh Spear
Keeping a daily journal is not as easy as it sounds-- I go in spurts, weeks of writing in my book, sketching in my black book, and then sudden dry spells. Micah Bauer's graphic journal has inspired me to keep documenting my ideas. He had pretty strict rules to abide by though-- one composition a day, each day, for 365 days straight. His compositions must remind him of an experience of that day, each must contain typography or be derived from typographic elements, and more. Last years documentation is on display, and the work is really great. It was initially an exercise to hone his design skills, and now it seems clear to me that Mr. Bauer is talented and very well disciplined.

Shephard Fairey Obama Commemorative Plates
Poster boy Shephard Fairey really hit the big time when his Obama print was picked up by the Obama Presidential Campaign last year. Having subsequently designed the official Inaugural Poster for Obama, he looks well positioned to become the go-to guy for reshaping how we visualize the White House. If posters aren't your thing, take comfort in knowing that Fairey has also dipped his feet...

Fraktur Mon Amour Giveaway
I'm happy to confess my weakness for beautiful books like the new love letter to Blackletter typography "Fraktur Mon Amour"—though I have to admit it had been some time since I came across one that stopped me in my tracks like this one did. Berlin-based designer Judith Schalansky's presentation of the typeface collection is almost more compelling than the fonts themselves. Bound like a...

Bible Illuminated: The Book New Testament
No matter your religious beliefs, one thing we can probably all agree on is how laborious it is to read the Bible. A Swedish outfit called Illuminated World hopes to change that notion by creating Bible Illuminated, a relevant version of the historical book.
