Barking Irons vs. Cool Hunting / Reader Survey

by Josh Rubin

Barkingirons V Coolhunting
We're working on a collaboration with Barking Irons to make a few t-shirts. "Interesting mix" you say? We think so. They're coming along beautifully and will be available this Spring in a limited edition of 100. Stay tuned for more details on that...

We're also doing another reader survey to learn a bit more about you.

So how do these two things relate? If you complete the survey, you'll be entered to win a free Barking Irons vs. Cool Hunting t-shirt. So if not for the love of Cool Hunting, then for a chance to win a free limited edition t, fill out our Spring 2005 Reader Survey. In April we'll unveil the t-shirt and notify 15 winners.

Android 8 Store

by Josh Spear

Glendroid

If you haven’t given Android 8 a peek yet, do so, it’s a must see. It’s a new online store featuring limited edition and designer work by people like Brendan Monroe, Luke Chueh and Rustboy. It’s all run by a very young and entrepreneurial east coaster— and that hits close to home. I love to hear about young folks, like myself, doing what they love on their own. I got a chance to shoot the shit with Glen, the owner of Android 8, and it was a lot of fun.

Interview after the jump.

First Look: Sonos Digital Music System

by Ari Bendersky

Until I had my iPod and Tivo I never knew how much I needed both. Now that I’ve had the opportunity to test out the Sonos Digital Music System, I smack myself in the head and wonder how I ever lived without it. This is one of the coolest gizmos to hit the market in a long time – and it couldn’t be easier to set up and use all over your house – literally. If your home is networked wirelessly, you can set it up in about 10 minutes. No joke.

Controlled by a ZonePlayer connected directly to your network via Ethernet, you can have up to 32 total ZonePlayers throughout your home (depending on the size, you may only need two). The best thing about the ZonePlayer, other than its sleek, lightweight design (it only weighs 10 lbs.), is it acts as a wireless transmitter. The more ZonePlayers you have, the stronger the signal throughout your home.

HORT

by Josh Spear

HORT has a set of solid t-shirt designs, like this one "Wild At Hort." They also have a book on the way, self titled, called "Hort". The book contains a bunch of their designs for some of their corporate clients, including Sony and ESPN. Founder Eike Konig says "our strength is in creating visual, bold, and individual identities", and the book will highlight just how they do that. Along with the shirts, they have a wonderful set of post cards and posters available too.
